Overview

The boat pose (navasana) is a yoga pose that strengthens the core muscles, including the abdominals, obliques, and lower back. It also improves balance and flexibility. To do the boat pose, sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor, hipwidth apart. Inhale and reach your arms up overhead, then exhale and fold forward at the waist, bringing your torso and thighs in line with each other. Keep your legs straight and your feet flexed. Hold the pose for 510 breaths, then release and return to the starting position.
